REIDSVILLE, NC (February 7, 2018) – The North Carolina Department of Public Safety has narrowed down the location of a projected $13.2 million Youth Development Center to two potential spots in Reidsville.
County Manager Lance Metzler announced on Jan. 29 during a quarterly elected officials’ dinner that NCDPS officials have proposed building the juvenile detention center on a 42-acre parcel of land on Elliott Road, just east of the U.S. 29 ramp and south of N.C. 87.
Metzler said NCDPS has planned to purchase the entire parcel, contingent upon annexation and rezoning.
